Project Description

Insurance Sales Training.net Redesign

After completing the template site for Insurance Centers of America, the client contracted me again to redesign their existing InsuranceSalesTraining.net site. The main thing was to clarify the mission of the site. The client thought that the site didn’t convey that the training was provided at no cost and thought that there might be a better way of presenting the information currently on the site in a simpler, cleaner fashion.

I spent some time looking at other insurance sales training sites and general educational templates to get a feel for how this type of information was typically presented.

The first thing to do was to reduce the clutter at the top of the page and give it a more precise message. When scrolling down the page I couldn’t help but notice 3 big bars of information that were all similarly dark. It seemed a better strategy to group these data points into three side-by-side elements like flip boxes that could divide the page and give a pleasing contrast to the contents of the page. It may be a personal aesthetic but I find contrast between lighter and darker horizontal bands more appealing in these traditionally vertical-structured sites.

The original about page seemed to lack any graphic element and was just a long block of copy. I thought adding a graphic at the top and breaking up this copy would look more appealing.

The contact page was fine but a bit plain; it seemed a small banner at the top could really give it a bit more life and be more in line with modern designs.

The primary thing motivating me was to give the site a more focused message and a more pleasing distribution of elements throughout the page.
